Green Industry is Essential Under Governor Kemp's Executive Order to Shelter-In-Place

Yesterday afternoon, Governor Kemp declared that he would sign an Executive Order for a state-wide ‘shelter-in-place’ to take effect on Friday, April 3, 2020, and end on Monday, April 13, 2020. Our industry members have shared their numerous sincere concerns about the impacts of the Executive Order on our businesses, employees, and customers.

Since the announcement, GGIA has been closely monitoring the developments as they come about. We are pleased to announce that the Green Industry in Georgia remains essential under the Governor’s Executive Order, which includes the adoption of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security CISA Guidelines issued on March 19, 2020, and revised on March 28, 2020.

While our work is truly essential to the health and happiness of every Georgian, we urge all of our Green Industry Businesses to take EVERY necessary step to protect our employees and customers from spreading the virus. Please follow all CDC guidelines for social distancing, practice good hygiene, and avoid direct contact with others. While these sacrifices may seem steep, they are relatively small when we consider the greater good. We must remember, we have been given the most excellent opportunity to work and grow together as we face an conquer the challenges before us.
