Certification Program for Boxwood Blight

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is now offering a certification program for commercial wholesale nursery growers concerned with boxwood blight.

Growers participating in the program will complete a compliance agreement stating they actively follow Best Management Practices developed by the American Nursery and Landscape Association and pass periodic inspections by Department of Agriculture personnel.

Participating growers will in turn be able to issue assurances to their customers that they participate in the program and that their facilities are apparently boxwood blight free.

GGIA also offers crop tracking sheets to help growers meet the paperwork requirements for the compliance agreement. Contact the GGIA office for information.

Interested growers should contact Mike Evans, Program Director at
